Everyone has this. A movie that went into your local theater that you thought you might want to see. And then you don't. Then comes the end of the year and you realize that was the movie that you HAD to see this year. And you missed it. Well, this year for me that movie was The Social Network. Cue Trailer -
Wasn't that nice? Now don't get me wrong, the trailer is great. But at the same time I was a little bothered by this movie. I empathize with real life Mark (Facebook creator) because I wouldn't appreciate seeing my life fictionalized in a way that doesn't really make me look like a nice guy. I felt that making a movie about facebook was kind of a dumb idea. And I thought that having it star Jesse Eisenberg who was until now at best a Micheal Cera clone was a dumb idea. When it came to my theater my opinion had changed because of a postitive buzz coming from the important critics. (As well as my personal favorite thought probably less important critic, Moviebob) so I thought I'd give it a try. And it only stayed in my theater for a week and I was busy. What a gyp. Oh well, it's now out on DVD so I have no excuse to not watch it. This is the movie I suspect will win the best picture oscar. Unless it moves me to tears I highly doubt it will pass Toy Story 3 as my favorite of the year, but I'm still looking forward to it.
Anyway, what was the movie that you missed this year (last year) that you regret missing? Comments are always appreciated!
Alex
